Notes : Barbagallo taught economic history at the universities of Catania, Naples, and Turin. He published several works on the ancient world, including La fine della Grecia antica (1905), Contributo alla storia economica dell'antichità (1907), Stato, scuola e politica in Roma repubblicana (1910), Lo Stato e l'istruzione pubblica nell'impero romano (1911), Giuliano l'Apostata (1912). Later in his career his interests focussed on modern and contemporary history. 10-2010 VC.
